Compiling proxy Lists for Rank Enhancer is a tedious, time-consuming, processor-intensive task, even with the help of a special program we use to cull thousands of Proxy URLs from the Proxy List Forums. It would be impossible to gather all the Proxy IPs without this program. Compiling a current Proxy List for Rank Enhancer ties up two of our high-end PCs full time, and another for about an hour a day. If you are thinking about compiling your own list, you should read this article through. In the meantime, it would probably be advantageous for you to purchase the lists or a monthly subscription to the lists from us.

      Using Proxy Lists that do NOT contain a MAJORITY of working Proxy IPs has a deleterious effect on the efficiency of  Rank Enhancer. Each IP address that does not respond or 'times out', does NOT result in any effect on your Alexa* rank, Page Rank, or Search Engine position, and Rank Enhancer waiting for the 'timeout' to occur before moving to the next Proxy IP is a waste of your PC's resources and Internet bandwidth. Having a VERIFIED Proxy List ensures that each 'ping' results in a registered 'hit', and that maximum effective use of system resources is realized.

      Step 1 - We use our special program to obtain an average of approximately 200,000 Proxy IP addresses from dozens of Proxy List Forums. this task would be impossible to do manually.

      Step 2 - After the list has been culled of duplicates, we end up with approximately 3,000 to 5,000 unique Proxies.

      Step 3 - The program then automatically tests each Proxy, and even though the list is culled from up-to-the-minute Forum postings, over 60 percent of them time out, and 10 percent don't respond to the 'pings' at all. The rest get separated by the program into categories according to their anonymity level. The process of testing the Proxies takes most of the day.

      Step 4 - Rank Enhancer could care less about anonymity levels, so we use the entire "All Useful" list as a Proxy List for Rank Enhancer. All the IPs that respond "OK" to the 'pings' are written to Session files. We allow Rank Enhancer to run until the Session Files it generates is the same size as the Proxy Lists. This ensures that all the Proxy IPs have been tested at least once.

      Step 5 - We then use proprietary software we developed in-house to combine all the session files (from multiple copies of RE running simultaneously with different Proxy Lists) into one large file.

      Step 6 - Our proprietary software removes duplicate entries from the Combined Session File list, checks the integrity of each IP address, removes any leading or trailing spaces or extraneous characters, and creates a header with a copyright notice, and unique date code, and this becomes our new Master Proxy List.

      Step 7 - We continually run seven copies of Rank Enhancer with the last seven Master Proxy Lists. When the Session files are the same size as the Proxy Lists, we repeat the process from Step 4 on a second PC. This ensures that we keep all functioning Proxy IP addresses in the list, and add new ones as they become available. Proxy IPs change or become unavailable for a variety of reasons. Many "High Anonymous" Proxy servers rotate or change their IP addresses daily, or at random (this is one of the reasons they can maintain a high level of anonymity).

      At the end of all this, we usually end up with approximately 8,000 to 12,000 unique Proxy IP addresses that respond "OK" to the Rank Enhancer 'pings'. We use the latest Proxy List to promote this Web site and several others, and we make these lists and our proprietary software available for sale to the public.
